He boarded on the Pamir from 1906 until 1908 and then commanded her from December 1925 to January 1926

Captain Heinrich Oellerich left Hamburg on December 20th, 1925 aboard
the Pamir. On December 23rd, 1925, during a heavy storm on the Channel, three men passed overboard.
The Pamir must stop at Falmouth. The captain was also injured and
will be replaced by Carl Martin Brockhöft (4).
He then joined the Department of the German Navy, where he contributed extensively to "Der Seewart" and the
"Annals of Hydrography and Marine Meteorology" (5).
